In this blog post, we’ll walk you through the process of creating your very first BitMask wallet. You’ll discover how to set up your wallet and secure your seed phrase.
Now head to bitmask.app and choose whether you want to set up the Google Chrome wallet extension or opt for a web wallet. We recommend getting the wallet extension for a smoother connection with the DIBA marketplace.
Step 1: If you choose to create a web wallet, press ‘Create Wallet.’
See Importing into BitMask if you would like to import a wallet.
Step 2: Create a password to keep your wallet protected on your device.
Step 3: On the step, you have the option to set up your Nostr-supported username for Lightning Network transactions and Nostr apps. Alternatively, you can leave it blank for an auto-generated username.
Step 4: Write down your seed phrase and ensure that you don’t share it with anyone. Your secret seed phrase is the key to accessing your BitMask Wallet. Be sure to keep it in a secure place as the loss of your seed phrase equates to a loss of access to your wallet and your funds.
You can either write it down now for safekeeping with pen and paper or retrieve it later within the wallet using your password.
Step 5: Congratulations! You have created your first BitMask wallet. Just press ‘Launch’.
